about the contract templates
ARE THESE CONTRACTS SPECIFIC TO MY STATE'S LAWS?
Although these contracts are not state specific, these contracts are drafted with general principles of contract law for the United States. There is no one size fits all contract. However, taking these templates to a local lawyer will save you a lot of time and money because the local attorney will not be drafting a contract from scratch.
If you have specific questions about the applicability of the contract to your state's laws, we recommend you contact a lawyer authorized to practice law in your state. Here are a few ways you can find an attorney for your small business.
CAN I SEE A SAMPLE OF THE TEMPLATE BEFORE I BUY?
Unfortunately, it's a bit of a challenge giving away a proper sample without giving away the whole enchilada! The product descriptions identify what types of issues are addressed in the template. If you have a question on your mind, contact us and we'll do our best to answer it for you.
WHAT is your return policy?
Given the electronic nature of our products, we are unfortunately unable to issue refunds.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE ME TO CUSTOMIZE MY CONTRACT?
The answer to this depends on your business. The contracts are mostly done-for-you with a few sections that will require you to either fill in the blank or choose an option that best fits your purposes.
CAN YOU HELP ME DRAFT MY CONTRACTS?
Your purchase of a contract template does not include any consultation with Annette. If you would like to work with Annette to draft a custom contract, please view the services here. Also, note that for custom contract drafting, Annette is only able to take on clients whose legal issues pertain to CA law.
WHAT MAKES YOUR CONTRACTS SO DIFFERENT THAN WHAT I CAN FIND ON THE INTERNET?
Hate to break it to you, but Google is not a lawyer.
Right now, there are about 235,000,000 results for the search term “small business law,” so there’s no doubt that you’ll have a lot of resources at your fingertips.
But let’s face it, do you REALLY want to wade through website after website to get answers to the questions you have. Who has time for that? Not me.
And can you really trust those contract samples you find on the internet or borrowed from a friend? How do you know they say what they should to protect you and your business?
As a lawyer AND creative business owner, I have a unique understanding of what creatives and small business owners need. With each contract, I interview industry professionals to ensure that the contracts address the particular needs of that creative industry. Although other lawyers will have the foundational legal basics to draft a contract, they are often unfamiliar with what takes to run a creative business like yours.
